DWA Seven Core Values

At Deep Waters Academy, our Core Values represent the heart of who we are and what matters most.

Each month during the school year we focus on one of our Core Values as a school.

We have a unique Going Deeper Assembly to teach these values and instill virtue in our students.

Faith

Our belief and trust in God is primary for our lives. At Deep Waters Academy our Christian faith is incorporated in all that we do. In our school, we are of one faith consisting of many denominations and we strive for an ecumenical approach promoting worldwide Christian unity.

We as a community at DWA agree to abide by a common Statement of Faith detailed below.

Family

Family

We believe the family shapes society today. The family is essential to the foundation of a child’s development. At Deep Waters Academy, we provide the opportunity for more time for families to strengthen their bonds with one another in order to reach their full potential. We have established our Family Ministry to support and guide our families.

Community

Community

As followers of Christ, we share a common union. We are one body, the body of Christ.  We believe God created us for community with one another. At Deep Waters Academy, we grow in community with one another as members of our school, members of our churches, and members of our nation.

Service

Service

Scripture tells us that we are to serve one another out of love (Gal 5:13). At Deep Waters Academy, we believe we are the hands and feet of Christ here on earth. Jesus says when we serve the least among us, we are serving Him. In our school, we desire to raise up great servant leaders of Christ, serving and loving everyone they meet. We hope our families and students would be good stewards of their time, talent and treasure.

Integrity

Integrity

At Deep Waters Academy, we adhere to strong moral principles and live our lives according to those principles. We train our students to be honest, respectful, and have courage to be bold in speaking the truth. We strive to form a community of responsible students, faculty and staff.

Excellence

Excellence

We strive for academic excellence through our educational plan and understand that excellence looks different for each student. Our students strive to be the best version of themselves both in the classroom and in the community.

Leadership

Leadership

Deep Waters Academy partners with parents to build up strong leaders. We desire for our students to lead others to Christ and lead their fellow students in our school community. We hope for these leaders to have strong critical and creative thinking, self-confidence, strong listening and speaking skills, excel in self-directed learning, and be good collaborators.

Our Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith is fundamental to basic Christian tenets and contains these truths to which we unreservedly adhere and teach. It is our desire to maintain this position, remaining united in the salvation and love of Christ as one Body of Ecumenical believers.

  1. We believe in one, Trinitarian God, existing in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  2. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

  3. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God and authoritative in teaching the truths of the faith.

  4. As Psalm 139 says, we believe that God created each and every human life to be precious and should be protected from the moment of conception until natural death.

  5. We believe God wonderfully creates each person as either male or female at birth and the complementarity of the sexes reflects the image and nature of God.

  6. We believe that God ordained the covenant of marriage as the unity of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime and that sexual intimacy is a gift designed for the marriage relationship only.

  7. We believe all forms of profanity, dishonesty, theft, illegal drug use, drunkenness, and sexual immorality (including adultery, homosexual behavior, and use of pornography) are destructive to our souls, sinful, and offensive to God.

  8. We believe that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glorious design. We believe God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess their sin, repent, and seek His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
